Health Care Lobbying

Want to be extremely rich for doing almost nothing? Become a lobbyist.

There are over 3000 registered lobbyists in Washington just for health care.

Health care lobbyists made billions in 2003 for helping with the Medicare Part D prescription drug program. If congress is paying too low, go work for a lobbyist organization for millions after you help them pass a bill that should never pass. Yes, it’s legal, but reprehensible.

Conflicts of Interest

Politicans would have you believe their campaign contributions don’t sway their loyalties. It does sway them. A lobbyist has a profit motive. Their goal is to take something from the public. It might be their trust. It might be an opportunity to sell at over inflated values. In any case, their goals are the opposite of the public. They want to make money off the public. The public wants to control cost and get a good deal.

Why the supreme court said a corporation is a person so they could lobby at their leisure is crazy to me (Citizens United). You can read more here: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/health-care-lobbyists-rise-to-power/
